The Molecular Lab at the Division of Consolidated Lab Services for the Virginia Department of Health is located in Richmond, Virginia. FPW Architects was contracted to design a complete fit-up of a 6,500 sq ft shell space. The lab space is used for newborn testing, whose mission increased in capacity to meet Virginia State legislated mandates. The Virginia Department of Health requires newborn blood testing for more than 30 disorders on approximately 100,000 babies born each year in Virginia.
